EW&PO is an investment trust (a closed-end fund) which enjoys special tax benefits under U.K. law. Investment trusts have a fixed amount of shares in issue at any one time. As a consequence, those wishing to invest in EW&PO must do so by purchasing outstanding shares in the secondary market. This can be done through a stockbroker, bank or other financial intermediary authorised to deal in shares on behalf of customers.
